List w sprawie słów o “nadzorze nad Polską”
Panie Komisarzu Oettinger,
od czasu niedawnych wyborów w Polsce w niemieckich mediach trwa kampania zniesławiająca Polaków, a Pan się do tego przyłączył. Dlatego piszę do Pana w imieniu tysięcy członków i sympatyków Polskiej Ligi przeciw Zniesławieniom.
Ostatnio powiedział Pan, że „Polska powinna być objęta nadzorem” z powodu rzekomego łamania reguł demokracji. Powiedział Pan także o konieczności aktywowania „mechanizmów praworządności” w Polsce. Użył Pan niemieckiego sformułowania „Rechtsstaatsmechanismus aktivieren“.
Otóż, chcemy przypomnieć, że był już czas, gdy Niemcy aktywowali mechanizmy niemieckiej praworządności w Polsce. A słowo: „Rechtsstaat“ – dla Polaków brzmi szczególnie złowrogo
Wszystkie bez wyjątku zbrodnie niemieckie w Polsce w latach 1939-1945 zostały popełnione w majestacie niemieckiego państwa prawa, właśnie owego „Rechtsstaat”. Rozstrzeliwania na ulicach, mordowanie Polaków w lasach Piaśnicy i Palmir (tylko dwa przykłady z tysięcy), mordowanie obywateli polskich w Auschwitz, Majdanku i tysiącu innych niemieckich obozów, deportacje, rabunek mienia, grabieże przy wysiedleniach, porywanie polskich dzieci w celu germanizacji, spalenie ponad 800 polskich wsi i wymordowanie ich mieszkańców, w końcu starcie z powierzchni ziemi naszej stolicy – Warszawy – to wszystko jest owocem niemieckiego „Rechtsstaat” w Polsce.
My, Polacy, mamy szczególne powody do niepokoju, gdy ważny niemiecki polityk mówi o wprowadzaniu porządków w Polsce i wielu Polaków kojarzy takie słowa bezpośrednio z haniebną przeszłością III Rzeszy Niemieckiej.
W Polsce odbyły się demokratyczne wybory. Polacy wybrali partię, która mogła samodzielnie sformować nowy rząd oraz wybrali Prezydenta – działacza tej partii. Rząd ten m.in. chce, by zagraniczne korporacje płaciły w Polsce podatki, albowiem w większości tego nie robią i wywożą rocznie kapitał wartości 5% polskiego PKB. W związku z tym, Panie Oettinger, zmiana polityczna w Polsce polega i na tym, że także niemieckie koncerny w Polsce będą płacić podatki, bo taka jest wola Polaków.
I proszę – w imię wspólnego interesu europejskiego – nie dawać powodów do obaw, że Niemcy wywierają na Polskę presję polityczną we własnym, niemieckim interesie ekonomicznym.
I na koniec chcemy dodać, że metoda gróźb i zniesławień Polaków jest najgorszą drogą do osiągnięcia porozumienia. Polacy mają w żywej pamięci niemieckie metody w Polsce i znają też na to odpowiedź.
Polacy nie dają się zastraszyć, a pomimo różnicy potencjałów, mają możliwości obrony przed niemiecką presją.

I support the letter of Polish League Against Defamation to Mr Oettinger:
Dear Commissioner Oettinger,
since the recent elections in Poland, there is a defamatory media campaign against Poles ongoing in Germany at the moment and you have joined this campaign. That is why I write to you in the name of thousands of members and supporters of the Polish League Against Defamation.
Recently you said that Poland should be placed under monitoring because of alleged violations of democratic rules. You also said about the need to activate the “Rule of Law mechanism”. You used the German phrase: “Rechtsstaatsmechanismus aktivieren”.
So we would like to remind you there was already a period of time in our Polish history when the Germans tried to activate the German “Rule of Law mechanism” in Poland. The term “Rechtsstaat” sounds very malevolent and ominous in Poland. All German Nazi crimes in occupied Poland during World War II have been committed with the full sanction of the Law and the State (Rechtsstaat). Public executions; the massacres in Piaśnica and Palmiry (only two of thousands of examples); extermination of Polish citizens in Majdanek, Auschwitz and other concentration camps; deportations; plunder; pillage and forcible transfer of population; kidnapping of children for the purpose of Germanisation; burning of 800 villages and killing all their inhabitants and finally destruction of our capital city – Warsaw. This is the effect of the German „Rechtsstaat” in Poland.
We have many reasons to feel anxious when a prominent German politician is talking about re-establishing “law and order” in Poland. Many Poles associate this with the shameful history of Germany’s Third Reich.
There were democratic elections in 2015 in Poland, won by the opposition party, which could form a one-party cabinet. The presidency was won by a member of this party. The Polish government aims i.a. to introduce a tax on international corporations because most part of them don’t pay taxes in Poland and 5 percent of GDP is illegally transferred abroad.
So, Dear Commissioner Oettinger the political change in Poland is that the German companies will pay taxes in Poland and this is the will of the Polish people. Please – in the name of common European interests don’t give rise to concern about the fact that Germany try to exert political pressure on Poland in order to guard its particular economic interests.
Threat and defamation method is the worst way to come to an understanding. The Polish people still remember German methods in Poland and know the answer to them too. Poles will not let intimidate themselves and despite different potentials Poles have some defense possibilities against the German pressure.
